Job Mission

This role has been created to support the rapid growth of the business in the emerging area of Data Centres. The role is a key support to the busy Data Centre Sales Manager and specialised Sales Engineering teams based in Belgium, Germany, France and Sweden. Objectives include:

  • Ensure engineering support is both effective and efficient in order to maximise sales resources and delivery competent solutions to generate wealth for the company.
  • Help to maintain and improve margins through the correct selection of solutions, and the production of accurate costing and schematics.
  • Ensure data centre engineering competency is maintained to a high standard including design, application and product knowledge.

The role can be based in either MBT factory in Dison, Belgium or based in the MUK office in Huntingdon, with the possibility of short periods of travel around Europe.

Key Activities


  • Collate enquiry information from clients and Data Centre team sales engineers, raise projects on Salesforce, and produce accurate selections, proposals and cost sheets as required.
  • Design control philosophies and P&ID as required. Work with R&D / engineering to update reference data.
  • Hardware engineering. Basic design operating systems.
  • Create E Diagrams.
  • Design and configure instrumentation based on client specifications.
  • Create project plans / manage work load and coordinate with the wider team.
  • Select and manage subcontract support when the work load demands.
  • Monitor costs and help to meet project profit expectations.
  • Create, Capture Functionality - Functional Descriptions / descriptions of operation.
  • Support and create Programs or programmed software for relevant controls.
  • With outsourcing software capture extra information provision and final inspection.
  • Support Testing facilities / FWT @ Dison.
  • Help service / projects with planning and organising commissioning from a controls perspective.
  • Ensure project information is added to Salesforce  in a timely fashion.
  • Evaluate cost sheets at the time of order for technical merit and article numbers.
  • Provide direct technical & sales support to data centre customers and the Munters DC team.

Education - Experience

  • ONC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering / controls
  • Ability create to read and interpret PNID
  • Highly IT literate
  • Project Management Experience
  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English
  • HVAC, Refrigeration or Air Handling experience or knowledge
  • Understanding of Psychometrics
  • E-plan or similar experience with Design knowledge
  • Experience or knowledge of Data Centres
  • Excellent spoken English – German and French an advantage
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
