Job Summary

We are currently seeking a thorough and insightful Cost Controller to oversee cost management for our factory. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various department managers to analyze costs, assess vendor relationships, and maximize profitability. To succeed in this position, you will demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem solving, and resourcefulness, with a deep commitment to the bottom line without compromising quality.

Job skills and competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or relevant field strongly preferred
  • Advanced accounting skills, including data analysis
  • Able to generate budgets and reports
  • Able to develop strong, cooperative relationships with department heads
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
  • Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a high degree of analytical ability and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized matter.
  • Organization, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Previous experience is an asset


  • Review of factory costs

-       Labor costs (Review of labor costs vs Shop floor clockings; Review of hours per project vs standard hours ; etc)

-       Deliveries (Review of COGS, GM% per project, comparison with forecast, review of cost allocation per project)

-       Purchase transactions and inventory management (Follow-up of scrapped/returned goods, Review of received / not yet invoiced parts

-       Inventory valuation management

  • KPI’s:

-       Determination of production result on a weekly basis

-       Review of material and labor variances

-       Follow up of warranty costs (per customer/per project/...)

-       Follow up of rework costs (per customer/per project/…)

  • Involvement in monthly closing process :

-       Review of Actuals vs budget per cost center

-       Monthly KPI preparation & comment (DIO, savings, etc.)

-       Preparation of group reporting figures
