Job Role

The Product Manager Data Center Solutions EMEA will support the product related activities within the Data Center segment in the EMEA-region and has the ownership of the product portfolio including R&D activities certifications, design reviews, technical documentation, product cost, production and supply of products, continuous improvement activities and take the lead for keeping our Genesys selection software constantly up to date. The new function has a key role in the rapidly expanding Data Center Business Area and will require strong tactical management to influence and drive the behavior of our development teams. The Product Manager EMEA will report to the Global Director Product Management, Data Centers.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the EMEA DC product portfolio
  • In conjunction with colleagues, drive development of software-configuration, selection, and quotation tools to improve sales efficiency
  • Identify Service issues in all development activities and ensure equipment service ability
  • Provide a link between functions, e.g. R&D, Marketing, Sales and Service, to identify, evaluate and ensure development and delivery of new or modified products & services
  • Product ownership of all Data Center Products in the EMEA region.
  • Identify and evaluate modifications and development of products in relation to market needs, and prepare recommendations to R&D and senior management
  • Contribute to market development and product positioning, including product strategy (1-5 years)
  • In collaboration with senior management, control list price, structure and policy of the product group
  • Product life cycle management Provide training of material for sales staff and Service Engineers & other functional groups within the company.

Key Tasks

  • Value based pricing – identifying customer value, customer needs and competition
  • Act as Project Owner for all New Product Development (NPD) activities in the Americas
  • Prepare and present new product ideas to the Global Director Product Management, Data Centers
  • Develop and implement training on product and application knowledge
  • Demand specification for value based sales tools – software, animations, literature, cases, etc. (together with R&D, Global PM and Marketing)
  • Launch of new products (market introduction, launch package, trainings, pricing, etc)
  • Responsible and co-ordinate article set-up as region requires (Product Name, Article Number, Astea, MEBS, SalesForce, Standard Cost, Transfer Price, List price, etc)
  • Product portfolio management
  • Assist the other members in the Product Management group (sales meeting, trainings, support, etc.)

Skills and qualifications

Qualifications and experiences :

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical/Electrical/ HVAC Engineering or similar through experience
  • Preferable Product Management Experience
  • Preferable experience of Data Centers
  • Strong HVAC knowledge is a must

  • A systematic project management mindset to reach goals on target
  • Good communication skills in English (other languages would be a plus)
