The position is in the Project Engineering department where you will be working on project designs for our Data Centre cooling range.  Your involvement will span the full cycle from project definition, design, production, test and delivery to the Customer.

The specific Job Responsibilities

  • To review the specific Customer demand specification
  • To configure the product solution and develop the bill of materials in the business ERP system
  • To design non-standard components and develop appropriate manufacturing drawings and instructions.
  • To work with external suppliers to define, select and procure special components
  • To liaise with Production to ensure products are correctly manufactured and any questions are quickly resolved
  • To continuously improve product design-for-manufacture whilst reducing cost.
  • As part of the Team, to assist with the program to continuously improve production processes, product quality, safety and efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Will be degree qualified in electromechanical or industrial bachelor.
  • Will have a good general knowledge of engineering including mechanics, thermodynamics and the strength of material
  • Will have previous experience in a manufacturing organisation making capital equipment or machines
  • Will have experience of working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Will have good experience of working with ERP Systems
  • Will have good CAD Software skills and experience, ideally with Solidworks 3D
  • Will be a well organised, self-motivated Team player, a structured but innovative thinker with an eye for the details.

As we are part of a large international group with regular project working across Europe and with the US, good English language ability both verbal and written is required.

Previous experience in the Air Handling Unit sector though not essential would be an advantage
